a new year, a new beginning… following our hugely successful 'realitY' tour to Sri Lanka, theatre Y announces brand new courses in acting, scriptwriting and voice training, all to be conducted at their specialized acting and training space – studYo.
actor, writer and director yog japee will be introducing specialized courses in scriptwriting, microphone presentation and communication skills, besides which he will be resuming the highly popular training programs act one and voice one. This time around, the coursework has been specially designed to suit the time constraints of the individual.
open house interactive session
there will be an open house interactive session at studYo between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. from Feb 3rd to 8th, 2009.
All are welcome to the sessions for a Q&A regarding timings, batches and other related matters.
longer programs: (40 to 50 hours spread over 3 - 5 weeks)
act one – a 50-hour indepth acting program that covers the basics of acting for any medium, be it stage and/or camera. Coursework includes theory and practical application, including improvisation techniques and audition methods.
voice one – an indepth 50-hour program that covers all aspects of voice and language skills training, with an emphasis on bringing out latent strengths to applying voice to relevant media streams.
storY - Scriptwriting program – dealing with all aspects from idea to execution. The topics covered include story ideas, one-liners, character creation, story boarding, dialogue writing, narrative and scene structure – study, techniques and analysis. Other features include production projects of developed scripts with potential, guest lectures, reviews, tips and techniques by prominent writers.
shorter programs: (10 to 15 hours spread over 1 - 3 weeks)

talkY – a voice, speech and communications skills training program for anyone interested in improving speaking, pronunciation, accent neutralization, public speaking techniques and presentation skills amongst others. Students and professionals in any field, from teachers to managers to presenters and anyone who will need to address a large group of people will particularly benefit from this program.
poetrY - Poetry reading and appreciation
micY – a specific program aimed at individuals interested in performing and presenting with a microphone, ranging from aspiring voice- artistes to radio jockeys to MCs.
other tailor made training programs depending on any individual and/or group needs.
theatre Y's courses are designed to suit both corporate and individual needs, and have been previously attended by students from all sectors.
timings and age groups are flexible to suit the needs of individuals and groups.
the fees for the above courses range from Rs.3,000 – Rs.10,000/-.
